Who’s Involved

Pebble Park has been designed by some of the country’s top experts in their fields. The supporters include people such as online safety expert Robyn Treyvaud, corporate philosopher and knowledge designer, Distinguished Professor Dr Richard Hames, and digital educational expert and researcher Gerry White. Pebble Park was formed by those who are concerned by the social and physical impact the untamed internet can have on today’s young people. The major contributors are outlined below.

Janet Gilchrist - Founder (

FnF Group founder Janet Gilchrist is a Computer Science graduate with 15 years IT consulting experience. Her vision is to make a difference to young people and to bring them online safety. Janet is convinced that addressing online safety requires “Not technology or psychology alone, but a novel partnership between them”. That is the fundamental concept behind the Pebble Park project.

Robyn Treyvaud (

Robyn Treyvaud is a specialist consultant at the Centre for Strategic Education. She has had 30 years teaching and school leadership experience in both the government and independent systems and is considered a leading authority on ICT, education and more recently internet safety. Robyn has presented at international conferences and published in Australia, UK and the USA and leads workshops and projects in schools communities across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

Robyn is the project consultant for a 3 year Telstra Foundation funded project in the Loddon Mallee region of Victoria. The focus of the project is developing responsible, ethical and resilient digital citizens in a community focused and sustainable way and this project is a first here in Australia and internationally. She is also working with the Child Health Prevention Research Centre at Edith Cowan University and Berry Street as they develop programs and resources for parents and carers, children and young people. With her co author of the CyberSafeKids CD ROM, Robyn has developed content for the Australian Communications and Media Authority internet safety website (

Gerry White (

Gerry White was the inaugural CEO of Australia’s national Ministerial education and training internet agency,, from 1997 to 2006, and was a member of the Australian ICT in Education Committee (AICTEC) which developed national strategies to improve broadband, technical standards, interoperability and user identity systems for education using the internet and provided policy guidance on the development of Australian digital resources and services. Gerry is a regular writer, researcher, keynote speaker and panellist at numerous national and international conferences.

Prior to leading Australia’s education and training ICT agency, Gerry was a teacher, lecturer, maths consultant, principal, project manager, education system head and national agency CEO. Gerry currently works part-time as Principal Research Fellow at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and is a PhD candidate at Curtin University of Technology. Gerry is currently a member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), the Victorian Chapter Committee of the Australian College of Educators (ACE) as well as a Director of the Internet Society of Australia (ISOC-AU).

Distinguished Professor Dr Richard David Hames (

Richard Hames is Australia's pre-eminent corporate philosopher and a world leading futurist. As President of the Hames Group, Richard works throughout the world with a broad range of industry and government clients, building their strategic capability to remain viable in a connected economy. He is mentor to several high-profile leaders, business strategist to some of the world's most innovative corporations and an adviser to governments.

Jo Gaines (

Jo Gaines is the Sales Director at which includes Australia’s No. 1 parenting site, and CEO at Digital Media Options Pty Ltd. Jo has spent over 15 years working in advertising sales and helped create, to support Juice (print) magazine. Leading the way in digital media consultancy, Jo has worked for various digital publishing companies and networks, including BMCMedia, Sensis and Yahoo!7. Over the past fifteen years she has received various accolades, including MFA Online Rep of the Year, Internet Dream Team Member, Mindshare Interactive Salesperson of the Year and runner-up for Yahoo Global Superstar award.

Peter Baines (

Peter Baines spent 22 years in the NSW Police with most of his time devoted to the area of Crime Scene Investigation. During this time he completed university studies in Forensic Science, Law and Management. He led teams into Bali following the bombings in 2002 and then in 2004 after the Boxing Day Tsunami he again led Australian and International teams, this time in Thailand. Prior to completing his policing career he spent time working with Interpol and the United Nations building capacity on Counter Terrorism and leadership.

Following Peter’s work in Thailand he established a charity called Hands Across the Water with the goal of providing long term sustainable support to the children of the region of Khao Lak. Since that time the charity has raised over $2 million AUD, they have built two orphanages and established a number of sustainable agriculture projects. They have now started construction of a community, education and health care centre in the Baan Nam Khem region which will be completed at the end of 2010.

Siimon Reynolds ( )

Siimon Reynolds is a renowned Australian advertising entrepreneur and expert on personal and business achievement. He is also a highly regarded speaker, author and executive coach. Siimon was the co-founder of Photon Group and is currently chairman and co-founder of OMG, one of Australia's largest online networks, developing over 30,000 websites. Siimon has won numerous international and national advertising awards and was also winner of the NSW Young Achiever of the Year, Career section.

Green Pages (

Green Pages is Australia’s most comprehensive eco-directory, connecting sustainable products and businesses to the mainstream, eco-conscious consumer. Described by the media as “The most important resource the environmental movement has ever produced,” the first Green Pages directory was launched in October 2006. Green Pages provide Pebble Park with environmental content and activities for children and teens.
